In April 2015, Archbishop Desmund Tutu travelled to His Holiness the Dalai Lama’s home in Dharamshala, India, to celebrate the Dalai Lama’s eightieth birthday. In the ferverish week they spent together, they curated a book to gift the world. Both Nobel Peace Prize laureates had survived more than fifty years of exile and the soul-crushing violence of oppression in their own countries. Yet, despite they hardships, they have been two of the most joyful world leaders that we have known in our generation. Their ‘Book of Joy’ has given the world ‘Eight pillars’ through which it can learn their deep wisdom of how to live with joy in the face of life’s inevitable sorrows. This program transforms these eight pillars of joy into real and practical experiences through which corporate professionals can learn the art and science of leadership through wisdom and compassion.
